ABOUT

History

This 210,000 square feet building was constructed in 1929 and originally housed Simpson store. After some years of neglect, it was renovated over a two-year period and in 1999, the Carrefour Industrielle Alliance was born.

As its name suggests, this building has become a crossroads of activity and people. A symbol of both the past and the future, the building goes back many years and is now carrying on gracefully into the third millennium. The Carrefour Industrielle Alliance is located in the heart of Montreal’s pedestrian network, one of the biggest in Canada.

Two major businesses anchor the Carrefour Industrielle Alliance’s commercial concept: La Maison Simons and the Banque Scotia theatre accompanied by numerous restaurants and boutiques.
